Munich and Regensberg
The power of BBC Radio 4! Lenore heard about Regensburg through listening to the travel programme on Saturday mornings. According to the radio correspondent, it’s an undiscovered gem of a beautiful mediaeval town on the banks of the Danube, about an hour by train from Munich. 1971was the only other time we’ve visited Germany to meet up with Mike and Ian, friends who were working on the graphics programme for the 1972 Olympic games. It’s all a bit of a blur now, just a few old photograph; so would Munich live up to it’s contemporary reputation as a sophisticated and urbane city and is Regensburg as charming as was suggested by the BBC travel corresondent? — a definite yes in our experience.
